Echoes of Tololing
Trek 321m
Duration: 2 Nights / 3 Days Location: Drass, Ladakh
Difficulty Level: Average
"View the legendary Tololing and Point 5140 from a 321m hike—where every step weaves Himalayan beauty with untold stories of Indian Army courage and sacrifice."
Experience Overview:
Step into the heart of history and Himalayan beauty with the Tesar Spang Trek – a uniquely curated 2-day experience that blends war narratives, untouched landscapes, and high-altitude adventure. This journey begins in the silent yet storied town of Drass, the second coldest inhabited place in the world, where you’ll walk the same soil that bore witness to the 1999 Kargil War. Your trek takes you toward Tesar Spang, a ridge-line path leading to one of the most visually striking and emotionally resonant viewpoints in Ladakh. From here, you’ll witness the battle-scarred Tololing range, the majestic flanks of Point 5140, and the icy scars of Sando Nala, where Indian Army troops fought some of the war’s fiercest encounters. Surrounded by wide-open alpine meadows, flowing glacial streams, and the gentle hum of wind over grass, you’ll feel both the raw scale of the Himalayas and the quiet weight of legacy. Whether it’s sipping Ladakhi butter tea under a starlit sky, hearing first-hand stories from local war storytellers, or walking under a green tree tunnel in Kutial village, this trek is not just a journey—it’s a tribute.
